112. Zoya - Megan
Megan is a light lavender-grey cream. It is from Zoya's Winter 2011 Collection, Feel. The problem is, Megan does not really stand out in this collection to me. It's an elegant color, I just can't say it's a very memorable color.

Comparison: OPI Done Out In Deco vs. Planks a Lot
Today, I've decided to do a comparison on two OPI polishes: Planks a Lot, and Done Out in Deco. In the bottle, the two really remind me of each other, but when you put the bottles side-by-side, there is a very noticeable difference. There are definitely no dupes here.
PaL is more of a lilac color, whereas DOiD is more of a lavender. PaL has a lot of pink in it, but it's a darker, more saturated color. Also, I don't know if its because of the age of the bottle, but DOiD separates in the bottle, whereas PaL doesn't.
I would also say that the coverage of DOiD is better. I only needed 2 coats for opacity with DOiD. This picture shows 2 coats of both polishes, and while DOiD was completely opaque, PaL could have used another coat.

88. OPI - Done Out in Deco
I got this polish a long time ago, back when I was just dabbling into nail art. For a long time, this was my favorite polish, and even today I still get a lot of compliments on this. Done Out in Deco is a very flattering lavender color. It's got a lot of white in it, but it's nice because it's not overly chalky. It's actually a touch dusty, and I love dusty-colored polishes like no other. I love wearing this color in the spring!
This is a quick and dirty swatch: 2 coats, with no top coat, no clean-up. The polish was separating a bit in the bottle, but the formula is still good, even after a good 2-3 years. Typical OPI formula, a little sheerer and more watery than Zoya and China Glaze, but glides on the nail more easily.

78. Essence - a lovely secret
Hey guys! Today I'm wearing "a lovely secret" (there were no capital letters on the bottle label), a blue-toned lavender with shimmer. I was quite disappointed by this polish. In the bottle, there is this bright flash of warm-toned purple shimmer, but it falls completely flat on the nail. What I see is a bunch of dark specks on the base color, instead of the lovely purple shimmer that I was expecting. Unexpectedly, the pictures show more shimmer than I see in real life (which is none). It looks kind of like a bird's egg, and while that's a cool look, it's not really what I want in a polish. So looks like this one's going to the swap bin!
Formula was good on this polish. It was very easy to control, but a bit on the sheer side. What I'm wearing is 3 coats of a lovely secret topped with Poshe. Right now, the sheerness is kind of hard to see since my nails are still nubbins, but if I had free edges, I'd bet that there'd be some major VNL.
Under diffused light, so you can see the 'specks' better. And a slight hint of that lighter shimmer!
The polish is actually a little more blue-toned and greyed out than this.

63. American Apparel - L'espirit
At first, I was a tiny bit afraid that L'espirit would be too pale for my tanned skin (I usually get really tanned during the spring/summer because of DB). However, on the nail, L'espirit is brighter than I expected and I really like it! It's a clean looking pastel lavender cream...I would guess it's a hair darker than China Glaze's Light as Air, and a it's quite a bit lighter than my OPI Done Out in Deco. I haven't done a real comparison, so don't hold me to that guess! I actually don't even have Light as Air; it's one of those polishes that would make me look waaaaay too dark.
The formula of L'espirit was wonderful; perfectly easy to control, and full coverage in one coat! I'm really liking the formula of these American Apparel polishes :)
On another note, I've been working on my swatchicle sticks and my nail polish, so maybe i'll have a picture of one of those up soon!
